& SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT SERVICES

program that is located at 8 Court Street in Woonsocket, RI.

How
it works:
Family Resources Community Action provides
mental health counseling for children and families where
there may be mild to moderate psychiatric concerns, adjustment
to family dysfunction or crises, reaction to traumatic experiences
and other types of behavioral issues that may impede daily
functioning at school, employment and community settings.
Counseling is also provided for adults that experience depression,
anxiety, relationship concerns and general problems in living.
This division of the agency is licensed to provide substance
abuse treatment services serving individuals and families
where there may be an addiction to alcohol and/or other drugs.
The agency is a member of the Northern RI Substance Abuse
Treatment Network with several other local and regional organizations
that collaborate to serve indigent adults, adolescents, persons
with co-occurring disorders (i.e., psychiatric and addiction
concerns) and other special populations.
Services are generally office based but often work in conjunction
with other programs at Family Resources Community Action
or in the community. The disciplines staffing the program
include: social work, nursing, counseling and psychiatry

is the array of services that may be employed?
- Weekly counseling visits
- Case management
- Group therapy
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Psychopharmacology assessment, follow-up and consultation
- Psycho-education groups
- Drug and alcohol screens
When are services
available?
- 5 days per week with evening coverage
How are services
paid?
- Clinical services are paid via third party insurers;
staff with appropriate credentials and experience is matched
to families and individuals requesting assistance. In some
instances, specialized grants, contracts and billing arrangements
are employed for specialized services. Consumers of these
services with no insurance also have the option to pay a
sliding fee scale that is negotiated based on their income.
