GROW UP! Community Garden

GrowUp! (Gardening Resources of Woonsocket Utilizing People) is a youth-initiated community garden that promotes positive change, sustainability and community involvement. This urban garden provides education, leadership opportunities and career exploration for youth and adults in Northern Rhode Island. In order to create, sustain and empower a healthy community, the garden collaborates with the RI Food Bank to distribute produce from the garden to the city’s nine food pantries. A portion of the garden is available for youth and community members to nurture and grow.

We hope to actively engage neighboring youth and adults with an experience that they can share with their families and friends while participating in something that will make a difference in their community.

The garden is located on Clinton Street in Woonsocket, next to the Woonsocket Harris Library, behind the Verizon Wireless building.

For more information or to learn how you can become involved in the GROW UP! Community Garden project as a volunteer and/or youth mentor, please check the opportunities below or contact Elena Marchand, Development/Volunteer Coordinator, at 401-235-6083 or emarchand@famresri.org.
